SPE – Expert 1K-FA - Series 2: SPE – Expert 1K-FA - Series 2 solid state KW 1.8-50 MHz HF amp in very nice condition. Excellent 4.9 Star rating from 102 reviews on eHam.net. Purchased as a back-up to my Alpha 77, but never needed and has had very minimal use. This 1K-FA has had the factory update for MARS / General Coverage transmit. Includes internal tuner, manual, cables, heavy duty carrying case with handle, and original factory box with all protective inserts. 2 radio inputs, 4 switched antenna outputs, and provision for SO2R.

The Henry 2K is a monster HF amplifier,
covering 80 thru 10 meters.

It uses a pair of Eimac 3-500 Z tubes,
to easily produce full legal limit (1500
Watts) with about 100 watts drive.

It is a single stage amplifier designed
for SSB, CW, FSK and AM operation. It is
a very, very rugged, heavy duty amplifier,
with an extremely rugged power supply,
with a huge power transformer, choke input
filter, and oil filled filter caps. At over
150 pounds this amplifier is "built like a
tank".

Of course all of this is in a very nice floor
console, with the power supply in the bottom
portion, and the RF portion in the top.

This one works like it should. With full
power out of the exciter, it produces
1650 watts into a dummy load.

Cosmetically it is very close to perfect.
I can not find a scratch or defect on it.

SPE Expert 1.3K-fa Price reduced: This amplifier is in mint cosmetic condition, and it is working perfectly electrically. It has the internal antenna tuner option, original carry bag, and box. It currently is setup for 240V operation, but it will work on 120V by simply changing the plug. When operated on 120V the output is approximately 900W. It will put out 1300 to 1500 when SSB and CW on 240V. It is limited to approximately 500W on FT8. I am currently operating the amplifier with Flex 6400 which is advertised in a separate ad. I would sell the amp for $2900 shipped, $2800 picked up, or together with the Flex and amp/radio interface cable for $4000. I am located in Brownsboro, AL which is a Huntsville suburb.
