I replaced the 2 power supply filter capacitors and the 6 paper capacitors with modern capacitors. I also replaced the A/C power cord, cleaned the switches and potentiometers, and the tubes tested good. I could hear static the volume controlled by the GAIN pot when the probe was touched. The probe is not original but is electrically the same. Not all functions were tested. Due to the age of this item, it is being sold AS IS!! This home made A/C power supply PRICE LOWERED ($45 PLUS SHIPPING) is in good functional and cosmetic condition. I purchased this item at a local sale. It has a variable autotransformer VARIAC at 120 Volt A/C input 0 to 134 Volts 2.5 Amps output. I added the output fuse holder, voltmeter, and input power indicator lamp. The indicator lamp illuminates when the unit is connected to 115 volt A/C power source and the power switch is in the ON position. The A/C output is fused at 2.5 amps. This is a great tester for use in testing and repairing vintage electronic devices, as it can be used to bring the voltage up slowly while monitoring the current and reform older electrolytic filter capacitors.
