I have it working now. Clock also works and keeps good time. I am sure radio needs an alignment. The Manual (copy) has a pretty good procedure for it.
I have had the radio for over 15 years. Bought it from the original owner.
The "cal set" knob is missing. Its a very small knob. Between the two dials. Everything else is there.

WW2 Aircraft Magnetic compass Mark IX.: For sale: Vintage WW2 US Navy Aircraft Direct Reading Magnetic Compass,
model Mark IX.
It was used in the seaplanes PBY Catalina and PBM Mariner Patrol Bombers.

This compass is in very good condition. The fluid is intact.
The compass rotor rotates freely and its markings are very clear.
This compass measures ~3.3 inches tall by ~5 inches wide and ~5 inches deep.
The compass was illuminated electrically via bulb mounted in a small compartment over the compass itself.
Inside the same compartment is access to the direction compensating screws, used to calibrate the compass.

For Sale Johnson Viking Invader 2000: I have a Viking Invader 2000 2KW PEP transmitter for sale. It is in decent condition with the typical EF Johnson Paint Chips that just seem to happen. It appears to have the original 4-250s still installed. The Price is $700 picked up in Northern Illinois on I-80 about 20 miles west of the Indiana line. Right now both pieces are on a furniture dolly, but we both know this thing will not lift itself up from my basement. I may be able to supply some help to bring it up to your vehicle. FS: VIKING VALIANT, HQ180 w S-200 spkr: Very nice, working vintage Viking Valiant 100W HF ( 80-10 meter ) amateur/ham transmitter, Hammarlund HQ180 HF receiver with matching Hammarlund S-200 speaker, also working well. Cabinets and paint are in excellent shape. Classic vintage ham AM station.
The Valiant's electrolytic caps have been replaced, the rectifiers have been changed from 866s to a new pair of 3B28 rectifiers, and the infamous "chernobyl" resistor in the VFO compartment has been replaced. Otherwise no mods to the circuit that I could detect. Transmitter puts out 100 -120 watts of carrier. Sounds good on AM.
Everything works as it should on the HQ180, including the clock.
Have manuals for both units. Take the three pieces ( transmitter, receiver, and speaker ) for $575.
You need to supply your own microphone ( D104 crystal mic works well )
